The Haras d'As: the origins
Located in the heart of the Luxembourg Ardennes, in Roullingen small village adjacent to the municipality of Wiltz, the family farm hosts the breeding of jumping horses.
Lysianne ANDRES began this adventure in 1980 with the breeding of Welsh ponies section B and K, under the affix "Lys" and saddle horses under the affix "As". The first products were born in 1981.
Unab d'As, the founding stone of livestock
His name is of South American origin: god-creator unique supreme Maya
In 1984, the Stud saw the birth of the stallion Unab d'As who was not only the horse that propelled Sarah Pétré on the international tracks, but also the founding stone of our breeding, which, thanks to him, was able to see the day.
Unab was debarred at Jean-Michel BARYGA, a well-known horse man in Lorraine. Serge GALDINI will take over and keep it until the end of 6 years. From him, he will say: "A horse like him, we meet only one in his career." Other riders knew him, such as Dominique JOASSIN, Catherine KUNEGEL, Michel ROBERT and Roger-Yves BOST.
At the age of 10, in 1996, Unab and Sarah began their partnership that will last a decade. Both started their respective international careers and CSI (Junior, JC, 1 to 3 *). Travels in Europe, participations in the European Championships, Military Championships, CSIO have followed one another
He was the only Luxembourg stallion born, raised and stationed in Luxembourg having never had the approval of the Luxembourg Studbook for riding aggregation despite his athletic performances. Never mind, the new European directives allow unapproved stallions to reproduce, and require each studbook to issue breeding certificates and provide the original documents. As we believed in him, we decided to found the bases of our breeding on him. His sports career has been favored, his production is limited, but of high quality.
Today, only two of his daughters are breeding.
Vicomte de Virton, the next generation
In 2012-3, our Stud bought a young stallion, Vicomte de Virton, without knowing that his father (Vagabond de la Pomme) would explode the following year under the saddle of Penelope LEPREVOST.
Vicomte is an exceptional stallion who leaves no one indifferent at the exit of his towers. Given his origins, his style and his abilities, we decided to entrust him with several of our mares. Four foals are already born and we can't wait to see them evolve on the competition tracks.
Our horses are raised in respect and pampered by adults. They are healthy, balanced, sociable with a good model and good jumping skills
